Kirin Chair
Meaning giraffe in Korean, the kirin chair resembles the gesture of a baby giraffe. The chair sums up the unforgettable experience of the seven-week furniture design program at DIS Study Abroad in Scandinavia in Copenhagen, Denmark in July 2016. The idea came from how people do not sit up straight for the most of the time. I decided to design a chair that encourages people to sit in multiple positions and to be more interactive with it. The triangle seat suggests three ways of sitting on the chair: facing forward, on the side with arm resting the arm rest, and facing backwards.
